James Denton, of “Desperate Housewives” fame, is one of the nicest guys in the world. Denton – Mike the plumber on the show – took off his jeans in front of Ellen DeGeneres' chat show audience on September 22nd.
The hunky actor and his TV co-star Ricardo Chavira had signed up to support the Lee National Denim Day on 7 October (05) to raise funds for the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
And in support of his efforts, DeGeneres urged him to remove his jeans on TV and put them up for auction, explaining, "It's for charity. I'm not just getting your pants off. I don't care about that!"
"This is the price you pay for being a sex symbol."
You can see a photo array of James taking off his pants in our photo gallery.
After much persuasion, the actor reluctantly removed his jeans and signed them as his female fans cheered him on and DeGeneres made him show off his bare legs.
Jenn Jordan of Q-102's Jeff & Jenn radio program ended up buying Denton's jeans on eBay for $3,050 as part of the breast cancer fund-raiser. Since then, Jenn has shared the pants with Desperate Housewife fans through her “Tour de Pants,” program.
The pants are still working to raise money for good causes. Jenn has sent the pants out on Tour to raise funds for the Autism Society of Greater Cincinnati. Why Autism? Because Jenn’s 4-year-old son Jakob has autism. This is fine with James since his wife Erin has a nephew who is also affected.
The pants made an appearance in Paxton Lake at the home of John & Melissa Hirst. Melissa was hosting Bunco that night.
